Cumin Seeds are called as “Jeera” in India.
Cumin is the dried seed of the herb Cuminum cyminum, a member of the parsley family.
Cumin, though, is hotter to the taste, lighter in color, and larger.
Cumin’s flavor and warm aroma are due to its essential oil content.
It is a typical ingredient in many spice blends, such as curry powder.
