SUNFLOWER OIL

  • A pale yellow semidrying or drying fatty oil expressed from the seeds of the common sunflower and used chiefly in foods, soaps, varnishes, and paints.
  • Sunflower oil is a mild, unobtrusive oil that has a high heat tolerance and very little flavor.
  • It’s often used for frying and sautéing because it doesn’t impart it’s own flavor into foods.
  • All sunflower oils are 100% fat and contain vitamin E, a fat-soluble nutrient that protects cells from age-related damage.
  • It is a combination of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats with low saturated fat levels.
  • Some people apply sunflower oil directly to the skin for poorly healing wounds, skin injuries, psoriasis, and arthritis; and as a massage oil.
