RED KIDNEY BEANS (RAJMA)

  • The kidney bean is a variety of the common bean (P. vulgaris), so named because of its kidney-like shape and its colour.
  • The colour of kidney beans ranges all the way from very light red to very dark, almost purple.
  • They are a good source of iron, phosphorus and potassium and also an excellent low-fat source of protein and dietary fiber.
  • They make great soups and chilis, and are a flavorful addition to salads.
